It’s a good initiative by IRCTC to introduce paperless ticketing. Was initially thinking how many people will use it. Our TTEs are not really civil in many cases and create their own rules, so was skeptical about people being comfortable to just take a picture of their screen and travel.

I was in for a surprise during my last Kochi to Bangalore journey though. Out of the 8 people in that section, 7 had tickets in their mobile and no paper. Much appreciated, IRCTC – you are saving a lot of trees.

Wish IRCTC did better hosting and a better UI too. Imagine if it were a private company (it’s the #1 e-com site in India) and not a subsidiary of railways. Imagine IRCTC with a smooth UI like Flipkart 🙂 Imagine if they set benchmarks in usability instead of playing catch-up!
